Why We Do What We Do....

I love puppies, everything about puppies.  They are so cute when they are little and I love that puppie smell, kind of reminds me of bologni but so much better when it's puppy.  They feel so soft and delicate,  their little paws and tiny little bites.  What's not to love right?  Then we get this adorable little guy home.... then potty training begins, or crate training.  The whinning at night is continuous!  Then they start getting teeth and chew everything from you, your shoes to every living thing in the yard and every not living thing that is within their reach!!!  Why do we do this to ourselves?  I'll tell you why.

It is no different the time you it takes to bond with your child.  This is a period of time where they learn what they can and can't do, what is really expected of them ya know.  It is also a time for you to learn where your limits are.  My limit was met when he ate the Palm Tree! lol  It may seem like these puppy stages take forever to get through and your positive at the end of 6 months that your dog is completely brainless, but never fear the end is on it's way.  Sure, things will go great for a while and you'll go outside and find the plant that has been untouched for 6 or 7 months is now 50 plants scattered all over your yard, and you thought he was doing so good.... he is!  Even when teaching your children they take a couple steps back every now and then.   Sure getting an adult dog is a great way to save you all the heartache, frustration and yard repair but isn't all that what makes a relationship?  Love your pup he will be an adult soon enough and you will find yourself yearning to start over.
